“MENtal health among MEN is a fragile topic, unfortunately, and remains something that we as MEN often put behind us and try not to think about. We have to change this, MENtal health should be top priority for all MEN. Being an athlete at a high level, we are taught an emphasis on being MENtally tough, resilient, and battling through adversity, whether it’s on the field or court. It’s time to put the same effort into our MENtal health, tackling MENtal health with the same effort we put into our sport. We can start by simply asking a mate, “How are you doing?” Being there for one another and showing support to a mate when they are in need really goes a long way. I challenge other athletes to also use their platforms to spread awareness around MENtal health among MEN.”
