“The game of football is 90% MENtal & 10% physical. The level of responsibilities that are required out of a student-athlete can be overwhelming and that’s why it’s important to decompress and do self-care. For me, anxiety and depression has been a constant battle since my freshman year of college. When you consistently put pressure on yourself to overachieve in everything you do, and you don’t meet those expectations for yourself, a crash ensues. I am a suicide survivor and I hope to one day share my story so that it may help someone else that is in need. The best thing I have learned on my own MENtal health journey is that it is okay to ask for help, vulnerability is a sign of strength.”
