"In 2019 I lost my Mother to a three year battle with cancer. With this happening in the middle of my college athletic career I realized mental health would be essential for me. Ever since then I have implemented different breathing techniques, and found hobbies to help distract me from the stress of life and being a college athlete! I have found that surrounding yourself with people that want to see you improve is essential to a good mental state. Once you can eliminate unnecessary stress, you can do and accomplish anything you put your mind too! Lastly, I figured out that asking for help is okay, it’s not frowned upon to talk to someone about your mental state! So if you find yourself in a tough situation go ahead and call your best friend or teammate to see if they can help!"
